Console

I picked up a car stereo cheaply from Banggood.com and decided rather than replacing the cars factory radio, I decided to build a console, mount it in there, and have it provide a few other goodies.

The console will house a cooler, cooled by two peltier plates with fans, and a thermostat. This will allow us to have cold drinks etc right at hand while travelling.

Right now, it provides 3 cigarette lighter plugs, two usb ports, and a voltmeter.

The switches will control power to the plugs, and the cooler, as well as other things yet to be determined :)

We went to my Daughter's for Easter Dinner, and my Son in Law helped (ok, I watched) instal a backup camera in the car.

He also wired up my 20' 4Ga booster cable wire from the main car battery through the firewall, and to the back of the car. This is the main cable for charging my 2 deep cycle batteries from the car. There is a fuse right at the battery, and there will be a Voltage Sensitive Relay switch which will allow the car to charge the batteries, but will not allow use of those batteries to drain the cars main battery.

Now I just need to finish up the easy part, hooking up the rest of the 12v system.
